MOU BETWEEN MŪLA SAṄGHA AND UNIVERSITY OF DELHI

Mūla Saṅgha signed a MOU with University of Delhi in Delhi, India on February 24, 2020. Mūla Saṅgha is located in Bodhgaya, Bihar where Buddha achieved the best enlightenment under a Bohdi tree and Bunhwang Temple will be built there with the Jogye Order of Korea.

According to the MOU, Mūla Saṅgha will teach classes about SATI Art(practice), which is the Buddhist authentic meditation created by Buddha and known as Vipassanā, to students and professors and develop mediation programs for meditation leaders. Also Mūla Saṅgha agreed to establish a meditation center within University of Delhi.

Mūla Saṅgha and the Department of Buddhism at University of Delhi decided to teach SATI Art training course once a month at University of Delhi through 14 units of the MOU. In addition, they will work together to organize research institutes, seminars, workshops and conferences, and to build a meditation center. The International Sati Research Institute of Mūla Saṅgha in Bodhgaya will also hold seminars and workshops, and contribute to building the Korean Bunhwang Temple, the first step in the globalization of Korean Buddhism.

Today the world is paying attention to the trend of the times that the meditation culture is attracting public attention. Through the original theories and techniques of meditation created by Buddha who reached the highest spiritual level in human history, the International Sati Research Institute will develop programs to lead the world's meditation culture, and train meditation leaders who will contribute to human progress and prosperity, freedom and happiness. These are the purpose of the MOU.

The MOU signing ceremony was officially approved by University of Delhi, India. Many professors including Professor K.T.S Sarao, Head of the Department of Buddhism, students, Buddhapāla Mahā Saṅgha Nāyaka and monks from Mūla Saṅgha took part in the ceremony.

(Since August 2019, Mūla Saṅgha has been teaching the original Buddhist practice at University of Delhi every month for 26,000 master's and doctoral students.)
