MY EXPERIENCE ON SATI MEDITATION

As a student of Buddhist Department and also having a background of being Buddhist, I always wanted to learn about meditation, but due to hectic life, did not get the time for it.

Now I am very privileged or thankful to my department as well as to Sati Arama Centre to provide us the opportunity to have the experiences of Sati meditation, able to gain knowledge from those wonderful scholars for insightful lectures and new information about the holy places like Nalanda, Sujata etc during pilgrimage from Venerable Buddhapala Ji.

As while the great Venerable Buddhapala ji explained about Sati meditation: walking, eating and sitting. It was my first time hearing as well as experiencing about the three different kinds of meditation and it really helps me a lot in my day to day life because before having the experiences of this meditation, my day to day life was very busy and I hardly give concern about these things, that’s why sometimes, I used to face with sleeping problems and over thinking, but after having the experience of meditation, somehow it truly helps me to concentrate.

As Ven. Bhanti ji explained, it should be continued to have wonderful result so, I always try to make time for meditation.

In this way, doing meditation by eating or sitting or walking brought me a wonderful experience, although it was hard sometimes, because need to face with back and leg pain, but still, mind was always in peaceful state of level, which was an amazing experience so far for me.

Likewise, during the lectures time, I felt enlightened with lots of new information about Mind and Matter, Sati: how much important it is, how it was originated and differentiate between the Sati and Vipassana and so on. Every Scholars had their own topics to teach us and I tried my best to learn even though I could not understand some of it, but I was sure I will learn and go through the recommend books.

Thus, in this way, my interest towards Buddhism increase a lot and made me more curious to learn about every kinds of Buddhism which have been existed till now. When Venerable Buddhapala ji was explaining about holy places like Nalanda, I found new information about it which was totally new things for me, even I had already visited over there twice before, but this time my pilgrimage was extremely meaningful and blessing due to His insightful description about it all.

Through this way, I would like to conclude my wonderful experience of sati meditation and for all of the wonderful experiences and memories, I am very thankful as well as blessed towards Sati workshop organizer and my department.
